Nature-based interventions discussed at RSU Research Week 2025!
24 September 2025
Rīga Stradiņš University Research Week is a biennial multidisciplinary event that brings together professionals from various countries through several high-level conferences. We are pleased to announce that during the International Student Conference, which forms part of Research Week, student research contributions developed within the framework of the Erasmus+ cooperation partnership “GreenTouch: EcoMind Development for Higher Education Future” were presented.
Psychology bachelor’s student Aivija Knīse-Repša presented a poster titled “Nature-Based Interventions that Are Used to Improve Adult Mental Health: A Rapid Literature Review”, co-authored with Monta Blumberga-Galiņa and supervised by Assistant Professor Ingūna Griškēviča from the Department of Health Psychology and Paedagogy. The study identified nine categories of nature-based interventions aimed at enhancing mental health outcomes such as stress reduction, mood improvement, and emotional and psychological well-being. This research highlights the potential of integrating nature-based approaches into adult mental health strategies and supports the rationale behind the nature-based methodology employed in the GreenTouch digital tool, which is currently being developed by the international research team of the GreenTouch project.
